My 2nd photographer is a great fan and practioner of street photographer, so when I told him about an engagement shoot with Anna and Phil in the streets of Windsor he begged me if he could come along, which I allowed. This is the prelude to their wedding later this month where after the church service, we will have a couple of hours before their wedding breakfast, so I managed to convince them of the street photo shoot for their wedding.
As with all my shoots, I look for interesting backgrounds to use and with a shallow field of depth the detail is thrown out of focus. Doorways act as great frames too. And long lines of trees receeding into the background act as great leading lines for the couples. All of which were used on this photo shoot. The added extra energy given by the normal people in the street helps too. I also didn’t want the cheesy tourist photographs, especially when you have the wonderful Windsor Castle in the background.
It was a great opportunity to walk about the place and take stylish shots of the couple in preparation of their wedding day. We have found some great places to go for some shots for the big day, as it will be very important for me to do the shoot very quickly. As the wedding party will be small, it will make it easy to incorporate them in the photographs.
It’s not a rare thing, in Windsor, to have people stop in the street and have their photograph taken, which was the case of the engagement shoot. I can’t wait for Anna and Phil’s wedding day, it is going to be fun especially when the passer-bys stop and admire and congratulate Anna in her dress.
Here are a few of my favourite images I hope you like them, more images can be found on my Facebook page’s album.
